The laser module is quietly changing our daily life, it is silently adding magical functions to many consumer electronics products. From smartphones to laser printers, to laser projectors and intelligent vacuum cleaners, it's everywhere. Today, I will take you to explore the mystery of laser modules in consumer electronics.LEMON Photonics provides dot, line, flash laser modules for a wide range of applications in consumer electronics.

Laser module's working principle is relatively simple. It emits a laser beam and receives the light reflected back to obtain precise information about the target. This technology sounds magical, but it is already widely integrated into every aspect of our daily lives.

When it comes to the classification of laser modules, several common types have to be mentioned: time-of-flight (ToF) ranging, FMCW ranging and triangulation ranging. Each type is unique and suitable for different scenarios.

Time of Flight (ToF) ranging, like we play a game of catch. The laser module fires a laser "ball" and measures how long it takes to "fly" out and back. This time difference tells us exactly how far away the object is from us. Due to its fast speed and high accuracy, this method is particularly suitable for scenarios that require rapid distance measurement, such as the navigation of intelligent vacuum cleaners.LEMON Photonics provides dot, line, flash laser modules for a wide range of applications in consumer electronics.

FMCW, on the other hand, "modulates" the signal by changing the frequency of the laser. The distance is then calculated based on the change in the reflected signal. It's like we sing in different tones and then judge the distance based on the tone change of the echo. This method works well when measuring distant objects, such as lidar systems for driverless cars.

As for the trigonometric method, it is the use of light trigonometric geometry to measure the distance. Similar to how we measure the Angle with the triangle plate, we can calculate the distance of the target by the position relationship between the laser beam and the receiver. This method is particularly accurate when measuring at close range, so it is often used for functions such as face recognition on smartphones.LEMON Photonics provides dot, line, flash laser modules for a wide range of applications in consumer electronics.
